### Target 1

###### Lesson Type:

Continuation

Geometry

:

Modeling

Create 3D structures based on 2D diagrams.

###### Supporting targets:

###### 1:

Use a 2D diagram as a guide or map to build something 3D.

###### 2:

Use directional language to help describe how a 3D and 2D representations are the same (in the picture the red block is in front of the blue block).

###### 5:

###### Grade:

Pre-K

###### Vocabulary:

Structure, Build, Shapes, Cube, Cylinder, Cone, Bridge, Square, Rectangle

Activities:

1. Students built structures using 3D building blocks from a picture. Students determined which shapes were needed based off of the picture and either built that structure or created their own. Students were given the name of the 3D blocks when directed to use for their building.

2. Students also explored creating things in the real world such as cars/ambulances, towers, and castles.

###### Data Probability

###### Interpreting Data

###### Collect quantitative data from a given diagram.

:

###### Supporting targets:

###### 1:

Looking at a picture where information is chaotic or spread out, count to gather data and answer questions.

###### 5:

###### Grade:

Pre-K

###### Vocabulary:

Cube, Cylinder, Bridge, Cone, Tally Marks,

Activities:

1. Students built structures using building blocks and then were asked to count how many of each block was used. Students identified and counted the amout of each shape block. Then the number of blocks used to build the structures were presented using tally marks.

2. Students were introduced to tally marks and how they are organized. Every group of 5 was represented with a slash through four lines.

###### Number Operation

###### Number Meaning

###### Write and recognize the numbers zero to 20.

:

###### Supporting targets:

###### 1:

Write numbers correctly.

###### 5:

###### Grade:

Pre-K

###### Vocabulary:

Numbers, Write

Activities:

1. Students practiced writing numbers on a white board. Teacher said the number, wrote it for students to see while students wrote it themselves without tracing.

2. Students practiced writing numbers 1-10 or to 20.
